So you buy a log and for what reason?

Get you out on small days?

Noseride?

Dose a log have to be a noserider?

Can it be a big kick arse single with modern edges (not entering comps)

Super small days n nose riding. Otherwise ride something more suitable to the conditions is my take on it. Recall though I am not really a long boarder - I just them for super small conditions n nose riding

1&2 - c'mon you have never needed a reasin before
But yeah usually for small stuff but the more I surfed mine the more comfortable I got so would ride it when it was bigger.
The weight and glide get you in early, the big single is good for holding a line.
3&4
for me logs are heavy, single fins, rolled rails built for noseriding.
5 of course it can, you can have whatever you like, labels are lame and if your not surfing comps then who cares just ride something that is fun.

Agree SP I'm thinking of a Fireball square tail 908 x 24 x 3 1/4 single which would be a great small wave board with a better rocker and modern edges as a single.

Yeah what we were talking about, got me thinking a really user friendly small wave board, one that you can noseride but still whip.

I don't think there is such a beastie, a NR that will whip, especially for blokes as big as some of us.

Fair enough if you're 2 stone wring'n wet, you can make any board do anything, but in order for a fat turd like me to get any tip time, I've really got to have all my ducks lined up and only then when I'm on the hot log.

Just get whatever Ray Gleave rides.. And I don't mean a 666

All he really does [ very well] is trim, drop knee turn, repeat, repeat..... So the design should suit what you want it for? Even has the 07 rocker..

I've been hanging out here to long If I know that

I agree with the noserider comment but big guys can or should be able to whip a big board.

Yep I've got that board its the Pinnacle however he has made a twist in the design with a step deck in the tail about the last 18 inches,he said its helps burry the tail on drop knee turns.

Yes, the whip is the easy part.

Big back foot and an upper body throw and you're usually good to go, but it's the tip time that's always the problem.

If they just started classing 24 inches back from the nose as tip time, i'd be laughing, it's that bloody Tudor bloke insisting that you must have 10 toes over the nose, that's really dragging me down

I've spoken to a few people who have this style of board and say quite the contrary

That sounds good Mac. More user friendly. Maybe get it glassed up a bit extra. Weight is a good thing

For me I just love the glide of a log, big long arcing turns, stepping up and back to trim and turn and running clean smooth lines.... and if I can get some tip time its a massive bonus. Its like a Sunday arvo cruise in a big ol' Cadillac, just sit back and take it easy
