Ive got Kanulocks and theyre great you can take couple of boards and be 99% sure ou don't surf will still be there when you get out.Cant comment on the effectiveness of lockrack but not sure I like the look of the open tops on them, would be interested to hear some feedback on them

I had an early version of the Kanulocks and they were terrible. The new ones from all reports are excellent. I lost mine when my car was stolen and burnt out - never replaced them. Instead I went with an OB suggestion. I use this a lot but I think it would be best to use the Kanulocks as well for safety sake. I only use mine when I park in a fairly popular location where most people know my car - never anywhere else.

Can not seem to find them on line right now - but works in a similar way to this concept - except its a nice stainless tow part shackle that screws tight and has a hole through it that the lock goes through - I just loop it round the roof racks - plan and in full view of anyone - so they know that its going to be a lot more hassle than they think. Will try and track it down tom and will post some pics of it in action.

Just had to buy a second set of Kanulocks on friday.

Just got my first 666 on friday and my green set ( 2.5m) of kanu's were 10cm to short

So had to but a yellow set (4m) so I could lock it up Now have 2 sets and can't fault em.

I like em because you can have 1,2,3,4....... Boards all shapes and sizes and they always fit to good.

I bought the Lockrack off the Breeze 6 weeks ago and it's still in the box. It's on the long list of things to do.
Those lockable straps were a **** to work 3 years ago but I hear they are more improved i.e. You can actually lock them.

How would a pair of strong scissors or a little bolt cutter go against these just curiously?

Frustrating I'm sure.
Mate, I could never lock mine.
The key just wouldn't turn the full way round.
I'll do a road test when I get my lock rack going.

I had some similar experiences Asea and Scotty. Mine did not like to open at times - it used to frustrate the hell out of me. I am sure I used to look like a weirdo (well more than I normally do) yelling and cursing at the bloody things whilst trying to undo them in a semi-crowded car park

Had four sets of Kanulocks.

The first two were the old ones (2.5m and 4m). They were a PITA to lock but could always unlock them. These are from the days when they were known as SPT (stick protection technology).

Now got the new ones in the same lengths and much happier. The lock mechanism works really well.

Have had 6 boards locked on the car with the 4m set (including 2 SUPS) and never had a problem with them.

Lockrack is expensive! Asea, you could probably a buy a decent 2nd hand board for that price! :)
I have Kanu, they are OK. But not as easy to use as ordinary FCS straps. I only need to use the Kanu's a few times per year, at most...

The secret to anything with a lock that's going to be out in the weather is a spray of WD40 every now and then, that stuff is liquid gold.

Inox is much better for coastal environment. Keeps my tools from rusting too (if you apply it early enough...)

Off topic - John Chardon, founder of Inox is in jail for child sex crimes and his wife Novy Chardon has been missing for 3 years on Goldy. I will stick to WD40

I use the Kanulocks, gives a piece of mine that I can leave a board on the car & leave it in crowded places.

I bought the lockrack cause fitting my 14*28 sup on the roof of my Iload was a nightmare, especially if the wind picked up.
Got great service from the aussie dealer.

Where it would take 5 to 6 mins to attach the bloody thing it only takes me 10 seconds.

And I feel more secure on the road too.

A tad expensive but worth every dollar
