But we never will lads .... without you - all of us would not be having any of the life as we know it now and for that I am humble and I am grateful and I am deeply respectful

To those families that made the ultimate sacrifice of their loved ones I hope you find some comfort tomorrow in the place you visit

Three magnificent cheers to you !!!

Nice Pup.
Tomorrow is my 20th dawn service.
Kicked off in 96 with my then girlfriend of 4 months (now my lovely Mrs).
Then she decided sleeping in was a better option so I got a mate of mine to join me the following year. Since then it has built up to a crew of 10-12 guys.
We start the day at our local RSL for dawn service at 4:30 am then head into one of my fav cafes Bar Coluzzi
at Darlinghurst. We eat breaky and drink coffee for the next hour & 1/2. It's a good catch up and reflection for a day of remembering those past and present soldiers and the sacrifices they have made.

Yes Pup...we are forever indebted to all those who served over the years, just looked at my fathers WW2 service record of 2015 days service 50% overseas, what a champion..but it took its toll on him..

Before I headed out to the surf this morning,I had a old fella stop me for a chat. we talked about what a beautiful morning it was,he had a tear in his eye the whole time.

I asked him was he ok,and he said anzac day made him sad, with the family and friends that he had lost during the war. You got from the service to here pretty quick. I don't go to em, I like to watch the ocean, never swim or surf, but I love to watch it every day.

A bit more chit chat, and he thanked me for talking to a old bugger,I laughed and thanked him for letting me have the chance to enjoy the ocean. Let him know I'm there all the time if he ever wanted a chat.

Anzac day is not a great day for all the vets,I hope this champion enjoyed the beautiful ocean this morning

My grand father serviced in the pomy navy for that one.

When I try to put myself in a war situation all I can come with is me hiding in a hole.

It is beyond me the bravery of those soldiers getting out of the boats onto that beach.
We all know the true tragic story.

Amazing heros
