add a brand called "wet dreams" to that list, failed me out on a bommy, I had to ask a 666 to tow me in, very embarrassing.

Balin or O&E only from now on.

Mac everytime one has broken it's been in storage and I'm talking about the
connection between the ankle strap and rope,,,not the urethane rope.

Yes. FCS ones mainly. I avoid anything with FCS screws holding **** together now as i had the same problem with them breaking were the leash connects to the ankle strap or swivel.

Da Kine Leashes are good and i don't mind Creatures, never had a problem with them.

Been off Balin since the Velcro just gave way on one after 6 months. Just wouldn't hold together when any force was put on it.

O & E are good leashes but find they are the worse for wrapping your feet up.

I Buy new ones every few years to..

I normally have three leggies on the go. I have two medium leggies and one big leggy for big boards. I trade them in every July so the rubber never perishes. I hate swimming and my broken leggies have invariably occurred in solid waves where swimming is tiring and/or long.

I snapped a leggie on the take off at Centers up at Gnaraloo once. Followed the board all the way into the beach with it just out of reach, then it hit the rip and was dragged north along the shore before being sucked out into the Bombie. I followed it out to the right hander off the Bombie and finally got it. At no time was it more than ten metres away from me and was a lot closer for a lot of it. For those of you who know the joint, it was 4-6 so not huge, but the swim was sooooooooo long.

I use Creatures.

Most of the time I use thin comp leggies, whatever I find on sale between $20 & $30 coz my local is pretty soft most of the time. Otherwise I use Creatures & FCS thicker leggies I've also bought according to price. Last leggy I broke was at head & 1/2 low tide second section Impossibles. It was an FCS 6ft 10mm leggy 2years old & broke on the swivel, I guess it had had a fair beating over the last couple of years. I replaced it with another FCS 8ft 10mm.

I don't really follow any brands...My longboard/666 10ft 10mm leggy is a couple of years old, brand name "Horny" lol & has had an absolute beating but still going strong *touch wood*...probably care more if I was in the habit of surfing more serious waves.

Sounds like you got lemons though Cobra, I'd complain if they were not very old.

Maybe Mac is right the heat up here, humidity can stuff lots of stuff but can't see moisture stuffing a leggie
my wife's leggie is a cheap $15 and about 10 years old and going strong.

That sux man, maybe it would of been better if it got used once in a while lol ...nah I dunno mate, maybe a lemon or stored in a place where the conditions were not favourable to its existence. I made sure to have a toilet style vent above the window in my garage to regulate temps where I store my boards n sh1t. Used to get boards sticking to board covers with wax in the old garage, got pretty hot in there.

Friends dog ate my gath helmet in the 90's, was not stoked at all...but could not help but laugh

Dont laugh but over the years i have broke many top brands of legropes, even 'the world strongest' legrope. The only ones i have not broken and use exclusivley now are Anticorp leashes and i get them off E Bay for $22.50 + postage. Might not be a cool Far King or Creatures brand but they have never let me down and they do live up to whatbthey say about them. I spoke with the owner once and he said they are made in the very same factory as some other big brands that are 3 times the price. Still it may be just luck that i have not broke one yet, but i have them on 4 longboards and 2 shorties.

This is the one I'm using atm but 10 foot and Red,pretty sure it was $36 delivered, going strong after 3 years.I just whack a bit of Inox on the swivels every now and then
