Forgot my leggie yesterday and could not be stuffed going home to get it so surfed without it. Well I learnt a few things thats for sure.

It was not crowded, was small and the way the break is set up you do not run much risk of hitting anyone so first of all just want to clear it up that I would not surf without it on a metro beach or in front of kids etc...

Lesson 1: Pick your waves cos if you wipe out you have to go in and get your board wasting time and energy (and its embarrasing)

Lesson 2: It feels so much better to pull off of a wave and paddle back out than to bail and then have grab you board, cop a set or two and paddle back out. Looks cool too, like you know what you are doing

Lesson 3: Respect the history, really started to understand how hard it must have been for the poineers surfing good sized waves or offshore waves with no leggie, absolutely insane.

I just cant go ropeless ( is that a word )

A few weeks ago I took my redline on its maiden vogue and after catching a few I noticed my strap was attached but the cord not,old leggie.

Anyway each wave after, all I could think of was, dont lose the board,it did my head in and that was the end of the day for me.

edit-I did well to keep on topic

Yeah I gotta admit there was no attempted floaters on the end section with no leggie. Looks like we get a bit of swell soon doggie

I'm a legrope free fan although I am always conscious of how many people are about, particularly any kids playing in the shore break. I kept quiet after a previous thread bagged everyone for the act, now i'm coming out!

S**t now I have done it! Thats why I put the disclaimer on the thread starter, if its crowded its a no go.

I can imagine the carnage if my board went hunting in the white water, not a good look.

Bad luck doggie should be a wave sunday if the swell sticks, most people will hit it Saturday anyway so you might score a little less crowded.
