Ok all I've heard of late is the lack of waves, the devil winds of summer, part from Chrispy who appears to be surfing every day,all I've heard is crap ,total rubbish, people are even venting on instagram and Facebook.

This got me thinking when did you least expect it and scored, keep it clean you filth old men!

While in Bali last week I rode u to the beach and was greeted by 2 to 3 foot perfect beach breaks yes you heard beach breaks, gee that looks nice so off I trotted to the board hire beach boys, paid 500000 for 2 hour hire and had an absolute heck of a time. Now the board I hired was the heaviest thing I've ever carried was only a 9 footer and guess what yes it was a foamy surf school board. All I did was slow everything down and we got along just fine.

PS dropped this thread because its been quite in here for a while,so tell us when you scored and least expected it?

I still remember a few sessions out at Tea Tree in Noosa... Pretty small, but with some patience, I was scoring waves off the rocks way out at the end of the Point, all the way through to the sand in the middle of the bay... Great sessions! Sliding along on super clean thigh high waves, then knee high at the beach...

Got some great waves on The Goldie with Chrispy too... Waves were average, and kinda small, but I hooked into a few long rides on Chrispy old Flow Log...

I had pretty much the same experience. I hired a Log from a shop on Hastings Street and sprinted round at 5am the next morning. What a joy. Convinced me I needed a longboard in the quiver. It was the start of a slippery road

Tuesday last week...wind was supposed to be a bit dicey and charts said swell was on the small side...arrived to find 3-4 foot offshore would have been almost perfect except the tide was a bit full

Just got back home after scoring a heap of 3 footers. Yes the easterly was howling in, but its always better when you get out there. Plenty of lookers came and went, they dont know what they missed.

How good is it when the waves look pretty average and you go out anyway only to snag some really good ones, sometimes its way better than it looks eh.Love that.
