a mate of mine is looking for a board to start surfing with and I was just wondering if anyone has bought a Jacks surfboard before and if so what are they like ?

Eamon hi,there are guys on this forum that have boards for sale ranging from beginners to high performance and at least you know what you are getting,not just sales talk.prices from $350 to $700 as i have spoken to a few members recently.As far as Jacks surfboards i personally wouldn't buy one but hopefully some of the other guys will give there opinion.good luck

From what I have seen Jacks boards have very light glass jobs and dont last long. If you are looking for a cheap way into the sport with a mini mal they are a good idea as they are cheap and not bad shapes, and by the time you trash the board you need a smaller one anyway

They are what they are: a decent looking cheap board for novice/young surfers... some good shapes and range of sizes/sprays...

When I was looking at something for my 12yo son it was down to a Jacks or a NSP... a NSP would outlast a Jacks 5:1...

Dont like bagging products (openly) but the Jacks are not the best quality. I bought a mini mal shape and it just did not paddle well at all and it is true with the glass job, not very tough at all. I actually own a 7'2 NSP, have had it for 6 or 7 years now, was my first board. The best board for a beginner IMHO.
