Theres this blow in 666 guy who I've whinged about before, old guy blue 666.

My question is it rude of him to paddle very close to you, digging his paddle in
about a foot away from your arm while paddling?I was going to have a go at
him the other day but for the sake of peace and love and all that BS I didn't.
Not many people get under my skin in the water but this guy always has, drops in
and snakes you.He has had more hits on his board than Lacey.

Seriously though I'd tell him to piss off...unless he's a really big sucker

I am a surfer but my craft these days is a Sup. If the guy was on a long board wouldn't you say something? It doesn't matter what they are riding these people need to be told!! If you don't say anything he will continue.
Point out your concerns politely.

If the C doesn't listen tell him to farq off. (perhaps have backup handy)

Let him have it mac ..... same thing was occurring down here ... one guy snaking etc etc, someone arked up in the lineup towards him, he fired back ... what do think happened next .... yep .... the line up backed up the surfer and old mate on the 666 pulled his head in ...
(you might find you will have line up support :) )

As funny as it is someone complaining about lack of personal space at Australias most crowded surf break tell him to pull his head in, if no one tells him he will keep doing it.

worse still if he doesn't get told and goes to a beach break and does it, can see it ending in tears when a wave comes through..

Some good comments above, I just don't like him, ever since he first paddled out a couple of years ago, last week he stabbed his paddle blade about a foot away from my arm as we were both paddling, I going to have a word with him, I'm twice his size so no need for a backup. But he has a look about him that says he is not going anywhere soon so I'm expecting him to fire back.

Be wary of all shapes and sizes Mac.
8 dan black belts aren't traditionally big blokes.
Sounds like a real FW though.

A couple of years? How long does he remain a blow in?

The less you say the more it will happen...I had an annoying one yesterday. There were 2 666's out in an area the kids usually go. The kids were surfing on the next bank across from them probably coz they didn't wanna be around them. I walked down to a spot with a fat little peak perfect for the LB about 150m further down the beach, miles away from anyone.

I catch a few waves & then I see this 666 paddling down my way past 3 other banks including the one where the kids were. There was another pretty similar bank on either side of where I was. But this guy paddles all the way down to where I am. We say hello to each other, I assume he's just going for a paddle down the beach. But no, he stops & proceeds to drop in on the next 2 waves.

I asked him, "isn't the beach big enough mate"...he like "huh", I repeat the question & he says, "I was going to go left". I asked him, "why the fark would you go left on a right hander? Then said, "I walked all the way down here to be away from everyone, there are banks on either side. Why the fark did you feel the need to come over here & drop in on the last couple of waves.

He struggles his fat ass back onto his boat, paddles out & lets the current take him to the next bank without another word. Then his mate paddles down & I'm thinking ffs. But he catches a wave on the bank just before where I am & goes in. The annoying guy catches the next wave & bails too.

Put a sour note on the session & I didn't wanna mention in yesterdays "where you surf today" thread to avoid negative vibes. But at the end of the day, you gotta tell these d1ckheads coz alot of them have no idea coz no one tells them. There's a chance they will try & justify there behavior. Tell their mates their side of the story & have their mate console them with, "oh its just another 666 hater mate, fark'em".

But you gotta say something & hopefully they will learn or they will just keep doing it.

I visited the same spot as Mac the other day.
ive noticed this bloke a few times out the back your a typical goldie local
Bali tan big guns Audi driving boat shoe wearing sort of guy.
me and Lacey were sitting in the car park having a kale shake before our 666 surf
when that guy walked past , must say he has a Majestic main of hair.
placed what looked like a new Mc Tavish board down on the grass and starts taking photos of his board
click wiz click wiz click wiz I'm spent kind of thing, I'm like WTF ,I asked Lacey who
is that guy ,Lacey just smiled.
well we paddle half way out the break" when I noticed this guy sitting so wide from the break
I paddled near him and he starts screaming you're in my zone you're in my zone then flexing and puffing up like a frog.
i freaked out fell from my board and nearly hit him with my pole bat thing.
look all I wanted to do is ask him where he gets his hair done.
i thought you fat old longboard blokes were cool friendly sort of blokes
What should I do ?

You're doing it all wrong Mac, here's what you do, first up, get friendly with him and become his best mate.

Eventually he'll invite you to his place for his next BBQ, In preparation, eat a lot of fibre and towards the end of the night, go into the dunny and leave him an upper decker

Even in giz some of the 666 people need a brain transplant........they are going "i was out at the point and i was catching more waves than anyone else"......as if it was a good thing
