Once I paddled my kids 6ft foamy and it felt like I was molesting the little board

XXL hazza
Some would say i am not riding it very well at all, but i have fun trying

. Its width helps and with the fish shape the width is carried into the noise and tail, the width helps stability. The width along with a flatish rocker means that it gets up and planes quick. So even though I sit out the back with the water up to my nipples a few strokes and its up on the plane not that slower to paddle and get onto waves than my 6'6" fish.
I read a post by burt burger (sunova boards) about him riding a small, thin, flat rockered, wide short board and catching waves better than mal riders so decided that I would try and build one, to my surprise I can paddle and surf it...

even at my weight. Sure its not the best tool in the shed and its not something I would jump on straight after ridding a mal, I progressed to it after a good solid year on the 6'6" fish. But its fun to try different stuff and its good to challenge yourself every now and then and stops me from becomming a lazy paddler...
It rides like a skate board in waist high plus waves. It gets a bit quick and a bit out of control in 1.5 head high so has a pretty limited usable range for my ability..
Heres a couple of picture of them I posted them up before on other threads
cheers
