I was reminded today that its not great when you are not fully fit. Took a good 2 weeks to get over the flu, but now I have a crook neck. Even though it was just my neck, I was only surfing at 70-85% fitness/strength, tops.

SMH, how's the back Jack?
Chrispy, how's the shoulder?
Mac, how's your back? Was your back a bit 50/50 a year or two back?
Others... give us your stories!

I've never really fully recovered from a near fatal dose of Blue Balls I got back in year 9 in the late 60s after a really heavy pash sesh with Diane Cooke at the end of year dance

But thanks for asking

Your pt should be looking after you better than that mac.

Started rehab Pilates with my physio mainly for my aem and shoulder. Medial and lateral tendon whatever theye call it. Also have a large bone fragment that broke off as kid has worked its way into the tendon. Pilates was my last chance to avoid a major operation and looks like it is working a treat. So ggood in fact I have coughed up the extra coin to be trained for my back, which also is going really well. In another 6 months I believe my body will be almost as strong as when I was in my early 20's.
I am sore but very happy. Bonus is the physio surfs and wants to keep me Surf fit as we'll.

Cheers Simondo been out on the 666 a fair bit catching waves and paddling in the river no dramas. Hanging on to my 10 foot single fin in the hope that I'll be able to pop up properly soon. That's the hard bit. About to get a 14 foot 666 and have a go at the down wind thing. Lucky I have a large lake nearby to start out on. The 666 is the only way for me to surf standing up at the moment. I'm falling off a bit but it's starting to click.
Chrispy stick with the Pilates. I started doing it about 4 years back and still do it.

Are any of you guys doing yoga? I'm thinking of giving it a crack as so many people have told me it will help my surfing but other than balance I'm not sure what the benefits would be having never tried it.

I did it for a while and it was ok but found Pilates better for me as it helps a lot with core stability and strength. There's plenty of benefits with yoga so I guess it's worth a try to see if you like it.

Pilates - Do it.... I go every saturday before surfing and it's fantastic. I surf better on Saturdays than any other day, because I'm too lazy arsed to do any real warm up beforehand.

On the injury front, after travelling overseas for three and a half months, I finally got back in the surf for one weekend, then I copped a huge dose of the dogs disease which flattened me, and then as soon as the swell came up last week and we got all those lovely westerlies, I cut my hand requiring six stitches, that must stay dry until Saturday at least.

I asked OB if he would help me in any way he could. He said he could help me piss, but refused to help me wank..... so now I also have a case of blue balls..... thanks OB........

Yoga vs Pilates. Yoga is not just a exercise,it is more a spiritual journey, well that was what I was told.
Yep I'. In love with this Pilates and have appreciated going the one on one training to start with. Incredibly bloody hard on the body to start with

We still don't know how MR cut his hand...I'm imagining it involves a batman suit, a cupboard and a disgruntled husband
