If the suf is crap on a Sunday morn, rather than drive home, I buy the paper and a coffee and camp someplace nice to have a read for an hour. This morn I camped at the parking area at north harboard just near the diggers club.

About 15mins after I arrive, a group of 3 young blokes turns up with grandad and drag out about a half ton of crap from the boot and start to suit up for a dive.

I left about 45mins later and they were still hard at work just getting ready.

I resent the fact tht it takes me as much as 5 to 10mins in winter get ready for a surf, I'm glad I'm not a speary.

Yep farrk spearing, dangers sharks shallow water black out Etc . I havn't had a scuba dive for so long 10ton of gear find somone to go with bloody 7mm wettie

Used to find the same sort of dilemma with sailboarding , by the time you had rigged up and gotten out on the water half the day was wasted

But taking 2 kids out for a surf it can take the same time getting 2 kids and myself out on the water .

Not to mention the time it takes when you get home unpacking and washing sand off gear

It's not too bad. I have it down to a few minutes now. Lube to get into wetsuit, line wrapped around the gun ready to go. I just slide into the rubber, toss the gun and float into the water, little bit of spit on the mask, jump in, put fins on, grab gun, go!

I used to love snorkling with a gidgy & grabbing a few fish for lunch. But I havn't been since not last summer, but the summer before...for obvious WA reasons

I'll take it up again when we move to Ballina

Thats why i like summer. Surfing in boardies, leggy and I'm out..

Oh hell no. It's almost impossible to offend me I am renowned among friends and co-workers as never being able to take anything seriously. They seem to see this as a bad point.

I was checking my weather live winds phone app from 5am...it was Southerly till 6:10am, went SSE & I raced down there. Looked pretty good, some size...raced down to the beach, stepped into the water & the wind went back to the South lol...got a few fun ones though before it totally crapped out.
