Picked it up a 2 weeks ago. Had a few surfs trying to get the fins sorted out and weather I liked it or not. Best surf was 3-4 ft beachie this morning. I caught heaps of waves and had a blast.
Floats me fine Doggie. It has a lot of volume in it at 6'4 long it is the biggest Sweet Potato Firewire make. With the very flat rocker I had no trouble paddling into waves and didn't miss one all session.
It was very fast and a bit skatey but I have another set of fins to try next time to try and give it some more drive.
One negative was that it was very light and bounced a bit on any chop or moving water. I don't think I would like to have it out in anything bigger than 4 ft.
Simondo, photos of mine to come. I was keeping it a bit quiet in case I didn't like it but after this morning it certainly gets a tick for fun.
I think it was designed for 2-3 ft beachies which I tend to surf a bit on the Goldie. Your right, not probably a point board.
I felt like I was getting old and needed a challenge that another longboard wasn't going to fill and I didn't want to do the SUP again. It has been fun trying to work out the board and the fins. I think I will have a bit of fun over the winter with this one. A mate of mine tried it this morning and I had a hard time getting it back. Now another mate wants ago.

FWs dont like chop in general. 6,4 is big I guess Ive only seen ones up to 6.0 from memory.
