NewScotty said..Just to clarify, first weekend in October is NRL GF and if there is a God the Bunnies to win.
Nothing to do with my aim to lose x amount of weight by Xmas.
Which btw is not going to plan. I have been "starting next Monday" for 10 weeks now. I still have approx 23 weeks til the fat pr1ck comes down the chimney. Stand by for a possible post next Monday - or the one after.

I hope they do win for you scotty, in the early 60s I was a bunnies fan, old habits die hard.
As far as trimming down goes, this probably won't be of much help to you, but I recently just dipped under the 100kg mark for the first time in many years, without even trying, but my story may be of benefit to others.
I had a minor health scare after a routine Bowel cancer screening test, I'm no stranger to them, they're sent to me free of charge by the University of Adelaide because I'm part of a study being undertaken by the CSIRO. I do the test and send if off, then a letter comes back recommending I undergo a Colonoscopy as soon as possible, again, no real problems, this has happened before, so off I go and have the Colonoscopy and they threw in a gastroscopy at the same time, just for fun.
Speaking of "just for fun" the procedures aren't really a problem, you have a general and when you wake up, you're left wondering when they will start, it's the preparation that's the fun bit. You need to take this thing called "Preparation C" and all I can say is two things.
1. don't take it at work and think you can drive home in plenty of time before it kicks in, be at home when you take it
2. after you take it, never ever under any circumstances, place any trust in a fart, regardless of how soon after you've lifted your arse off the can after taking the biggest dump in the known universe

On June 6th, I go back and see the specialist and he says that a biopsy taken from my gut is okay, but I have pre-cancer cells in the colon, (commonly known as polyps) that will require me to undergo a colonoscopy every 3 years, and that's just fine with me because, if found and treated early, Bowel cancer is one of the most treatable and curable cancers around.
"So, what about the weight loss", I hear you say, well the quack told me that I must give up Coffee and chocolate, and although I like chocolate, the coffee part was the one that really hurt, my whole life revolved around drinking it, at home at work at play, coffee was just so much a part of who I was and what I did.
But I immediately stopped drinking it and have never had a cup since, nor have I eaten chocolate and within 2 weeks, my weight dropped by about 3 kgs. I put it down to the fact that without the coffee, I just don't want to eat crap and whenever I felt a bit hungry, I would often eat something that had chocolate on it.
I've been wanting to discuss this subject with you guys for a months because I know a lot of you are close to 50 and a lot of you are past 50 and I urge you to consider doing a Bowel cancer screening test once and then every 5 years thereafter, I know I get mine for free, but even a kit from the chemist will probably cost you less than 40 clams, and that includes postage. It's the easiest test in the world to do, it's as easy as pinching one off and you owe it to your family to to do it.
