Snapped my 9'0 Firewire yesterday so I'm now looking for replacement board in 9'0 range.

Have taken demo of Taylor Jensen 9'0 pro model and it looks a bit more refined than my old one.

Want to stay around 9'0 x 22 7/8 x 2 5/8 rounded / pin tail. Already have a 10x24 log.

I'm 6'5 & 100kg

Thickness, why not pump it up to 3 or 2"7/8 for your size?

FireWire Longboards... Are there 2 models / 2 sizes / 2 templates, both wood grain laminate... Or are there more boards to choose from?

Lets see... Let me mull over a custom McTavish, custom tints, model options, and size options...
At least once you decide on buying a FireWire Longboard, it should be easy to work out which board of the 2 will suit you better. Actually, 4 boards.

Goddard, Clearwater/SDR, McTavish are forum favorites.

I have a 9'6" SDR with a Rubin Roxburogh (sp) centre and Rusty foiled quad rears for sides, 195cm and 110kg. Goes great guns.

In all seriousness I reckon go an SDR. He is local to you and really is a performance longboard specialist. Mac might correct me on this, but I reckon mctavish are more into more traditional longboards.
I only wish SDR was still shaping in WA!!

I have honestly never heard a bad thing about SDR boards and everyone seems to think he is a top guy! All his boards look amazing and he did the beer garden board.

Get amongst it!

Cheers boys food for thought, currently riding 9'0 23x 3 with 77ltrs, the TJ Pro Model is slightly narrower / thinner and approx 60 ltrs. Heavier glass job on these now so I'm interested how it goes. The squash tail with tapered rails along with the nose rocker agrees with my surfing which is 95% done on backhand on the points.

Options going through the head:

* similar shape to Firewire with triple stringer & heavier glass job as it is the second board I've snapped in 18 months.

*My brother turned up yesterday with a 7'10 Rolled vee bottom - very nice looking board & making me think something slightly bigger.

Essentially quiver as follows:

10'6 C4 sup - flat water only

10ft Alley Slider - great for headhigh points

9'0 - head high plus Alley / beachies

Custom bodyboard - used for Snapper / Kirra / Burleigh when its cooking (old habits die hard!!)
