I have to head to Sydney for business but thought I'd drive down as an excuse to surf my way down the coast. Left home a little too early so my first planned stop at Lennox didn't eventuate so it was off to Woopi. First stop Arrawarra but once again she didn't put it on for me so I checked over a few other spots Obct shared with me but no luck, it was just slop. I thought I'd check out Main Beach & it was going ok, with little 1 - 1-1/2' breaks, while paddling out I spotted LFish the resident guru of the area, he'd already been out for 2 hours but stayed another hour to surf with me. He picked up a nice wave said goodbye & headed in, I stayed for more and ended up surfing there for 3 hours with maybe 3 others at best.
Next stop was Nambucca Heads but again it wasn't producing so I headed for my day 1 destination, Crescent Head, Wow!! I'm in love!!
This break was only around 1-2' but the wave shape is just perfect, long rides that kill your arms on the paddle back out, crew were very friendly & scenery was fantastic.
I must have caught 20+ waves & now I'm sitting at the pub still with a smile on my face.
Will repeat it again in the morning before heading further south to check out a few breaks Ted has put me onto, until then keep smiling.
Nice to hear you got some fun ones today Vanders. I am annoyed that I will not be able to host you tom evening as originally planned and show you around the local spots. Especially given that conditions look good. As we spoke this morning about that place starting with B (northern end) - I think that will be great fun tom as you head down the coast - make sure you get at least a surf or two in at Crescent before the wind gets up. Paddle out at 5:45am !!!
Hoping to meet ya with ob and MR on Thursday morning.
Cres is a great spot..did you dine at the Country Club and stay at Wombat ??
And what can I say about LaFish..legend
Nah mate, ate at the pub & staying at Crescent Resort & Conference, might have been a resort 20 years ago but not so much now.
Lance is a top bloke!

One of the best post I have read in ages. Very envious atm. Wish you would have tried Scotts head instead of Nambucca... Keep on trucking ya grom
Yeah I almost went & looked at Scotts, oh we'll next time.
Shoulder is actually holding up pretty well too, we'll see how it goes after a couple more days.

Looking forward to seeing that spot Ted, no worries on the rain check for tomorrow night, I'll be back again & we'll do it again.
What I was met with when I arrived at Crescent on Monday afternoon.
Early next morning just on dawn, I hit the water straight after I took this photo & there was one other short boarder that only stayed for 20 minutes then had the break to myself for 1h20min before my arms gave out after lots of paddling back out from 200-300m rides, not huge but crazy good shaped sliders that just kept going.
Once I got out within 5 minutes there were 5-10 other people in the water & I took some more photos straight after I put the board on the roof so this is what I'd had for nearly 2+ hours.
Another spot that was producing some nice beaches. (You can see the size in reference to the surfer who is just in front of the breaking wave)
PP wasn't much on this day.
This was a great spot Ted told me about, 5 short boarders on waves that weren't huge but broke quick & had some punch. Surfed here for around 2 hours & the locals were very friendly even calling me onto waves.
View on the beach wasn't too bad either, these couple are for you Pup, girls wanted me to say 'hi' to you for them too.
This one was on the morning Ted took me to one of his many great spots, waves didn't look like much at first but we got some fun little lefts & rights here.
