I called into Aloha in Manly this evening and Tim showed me the fluid foil in action. No bolts / screws - just a bit of brute force. I love the concept. You can even move it round in the surf. Anyway I could not resist and had to grab one. Anyone had a play with them before? He only had an 8 in his store but I figured I would give it a go anyway. Needed a new one and had to pull the trigger whilst I had the chance.

That's a Beerfine ............... under section 1 part c - Fin Guru not/failing/neglecting to provide a detailed PIMP of said Fin to Greenroom froffers you can accept an early guilty plea of 1 x Sixpack of full strength beer

Note: ...... get that up ya Viscount Lacey

Its a semi enclosed ball bearing by the look of it. Simple idea. Not sure how long it will last - lets hope they have used a decent grade of stainless

LL - unlike you I am not a fin master I refuse to own lots of long board fins for 2 simple reasons - 1 the cost and 2 I only have one LB and I use it sparingly. I am hoping to make some fins shortly - but like all those chores that you think you are going to do you just don''t get round to it and then you need them!! Missed some great waves on the LB this week as I did not have a fin Problem solved now. And by Easter I hope to have a few more for the LB. On my shorties I have a few sets but I tend to not change them as I am lazy

Fins...hmm dont think to much about them..one board one set ... done .... BUT i may in my ignorance selling myself short (and boards)
So, to the fin gurus...how about imparting your knowledge in regards to

Fin Cant, Toe in, Base width, tip flex, Foil chord lengths, Fin Rake.

Would be an interesting discussion....(I know jack sh$t about surfboard fins)

So how bout it..share the greenroom knowledge pool
