Around 10 years but initially very on/off with 3-4 years in that time out with a back injury.

Never enjoyed it as much as I am now.

Had a couple of mid-lengths previously, but got my first 9.1 about 4 years ago.

On shorties for 20+ years - then hit the mids after breaking my back and losing a lot of fitness... Found I liked the extra volume and stayed on mids for about 10 years. Got a mal to enjoy some small summer peelers that I was missing out on.

Brought my first one 3 yrs ago. Still prefer my shortie over a longboard but some days the longboard is the one to ride. If I lived by a long point break I would probably have 5 of them

Would be about two years now I think...I only started to ride one after finding this forum...I hated people who rode them as much as I hated boogie boarders my whole life..

Glad I started, yes they are super easy to ride if all you do is trim.....but **** me once you try to actually Surf them...well that is whole other ball game. I could practise till I die and still would have not mastered it..
The crew that make it look easy, well I wish I was them

Hmmm trick question Mac....
Riding a longboard.... as it was my first attempt at surfing, I'll say Ive owned one for 3 1/2 years, been "riding" one for about half that...rest of the time was, paddling, grovelling, chasing, rolling, swearing at, falling off etc etc etc

Not long enough... Or should that be not often enough. I'm still too slow on the popup and struggle to stay clise to the break so I can hit the nose. Need more practise

First used to grab one of the Plantation crews 10'ers for winter time small wave sliding back in the mid 80's before the resurgence took off.
Had one or two in the quiver for the last 5 years.

Seriously? About a year.

As a bit of fun on a small day? Entire life.

As long as it floats and it will catch waves, I am stoked! Lid, shorty or mal, the way the water should be!
