On my drive back home today after a surf I was thinking about the fact that it's a 1hr20min each way trip for me & wondered if any others have a similar trip or who are the lucky buggers that are there in 5 minutes?

I must be a lucky bigger. First time in my life I think.

3 minutes to Yaroomba Beach, 5minutes to Coolum Beach, but my favourite break is 15 minutes away.

Though my very favourite local break is an hour and a half drive away. This is a very secret spot that you can only get to by 4wd. No names.

Though Vanders I used to travel like you once.

Cheers.

My closet is 7 mins away however I much prefer the quality of the southern points which is 20 mins.
As much as I love surfing there I couldn't live there.I used to get dropped off at the bus stop at 6am
and return at 6pm when I was a young fellow an hour each away 10 bucks and a dollar for the board and
eat KFC from Cooly on the way home.

Plenty of options within 10 minutes even more if I drive 20. Not always great quality but usually something to surf most days and we do get the occasional good day

You guys are pretty unlucky!

I live in a close to 40 squares house, 180 degree view of the ocean, 2 acres of land, with a 3 minute walk to the beach. My two most surfed waves are about 5 minutes drive north and south of home, but on the coast there is about 35 breaks within about 30-40 minutes of driving.

We could drive about 1-2 hours for another 5 or so points that pump at swansea, or we can continue to hobart! Or go the other way and surf devonport river or a 6 hour drive to the west coast, great waves!

Some good videos of these places about too!

Ah, I was wondering because we have friends who live in Jan Juc so was going to ask if you knew them.

Then again, it isn't Tassie!
