I've been surfing for decades and only recently perfected my Hang-10

I learnt that the rear of the board really has to dig into the curl of the wave for the balance to work. The only other way I managed a very quick H10 was to ride down a fast wall and quickly go to the front, but soon the nose will start to dig in. The only way to make the H10 last is to have a good amount of white-wash on the wave (rolling waves are best) and have the tail in there.

Your experiences?

Wingnut has some good tips too

You put your left foot in, you put your left foot out, you put your left foot in and you shake it all about!
Sorry, in one of those moods, this morning.
I'm a firm believer in a big single fin (fatboy or hatchet), stall and go forward. I used to walk straight off the front sometimes, but got there in the end.
It will come! Just keep at it!

Yeah it's an oldie, but I love Wingnut. He's such a laid back relaxed dude, and one of the best longboarders I've seen. I was impressed when he rode Cloudbreak barrelling at around 12-15foot on a single fin longboard back in the day. Wow!
