It looks like the best swell in a long long time to be hitting those east coast beaches of the North Island is coming your way......I imagine some of those semi secret spots on the western side of the East Cape will be firing (especially with those favourable winds) and a few down your way as well. Please send us some pics!!! I am almost tempted to do a mad dash home and visit some family ha ha ha I think I may have a wedding or similar to attend that I forgot to tell the boss about

Take a drive through the Waioeka Gorge - things should be nice and clean on the other side of the cape with those winds I would have thought.

Mate the gorge is dodgee open yesterday one way hours of day light only been closed for a month , coast rd and south rd were closed at one stage last week weather has been absolute crap surf hasn't been much better , but who knows maybe we'll get some off shore , Big river should be pumping . If you come over best to fly into here , 6hour drive from Opotiki to here if gorge closed .
