Came accross this old single fin that I bought from a mate pretty cheap in Adelaide and am having trouble figuring out who it was made by and around when...? It measures up to be around 5'10" long and 21" inches wide (widest point is set around 2'10"from the nose), while the rocker is minimal all the way through the flat bottom untill it steepens around 2' from the nose slightly. The tial has this outline looking like it is heading in to a pintail but continues straight and goes into a rounded tail instead... not sure if this qualifies as a tracker...?
Couple of logos on the upper deck. One of them being a faded Ripcurl logo thats a little skew wiff as i cant exactly find anything similar on a basic search and the other superman shaped logo makes me think of a Mark Richards board but doesnt look exactly the same?
Any knowledge would be much appreciated want to restore the board to as original as possible with out damaging the heratige. Will need to remove some sections of fiberglass around the tail where is has delaminated completely but the plethora of hole elsewhere can be patched up. The fin is a whole other story... fairly sure someone has messed around with it after purchase, fluting the fins in an experimental sort of way to say the least.
Well I've got to ask you paid money for that from a mate?
I'm no expert but I think its a home made job, those marks where the logos have come off ,I believe are in fact stickers hence the the protected less faded colouring, logos are glassed on under the glass and simply can not come off.
Mate I've been into and dealing vintage & retro boards for a long time and that board reeks Backyarder... Stickers on top are add ons and nothing under the glass, poor shape...and the foil on the fin..fmd And the dawgs expression says it all.. WTF
