Hey erimar what dimensions are on the board you,ll find them on the bottom of the board alongside the stringer that is the mid point longitudinally from nose to tail , How many fins 1 or 3
Is the board discoloured i,e brown tinges anywhere along rails etc
What is your height , weight , fitness level
Have you had experience in surf before like on a boogie board for instance
How much does the guy want for the board

I would probably wait till i got home to get sorted by people who know what they are doing
You may be able to buy it if you cant wait and trade it later if the board doesnt suit you
Pack the board extremely well if you do buy it for the long flight
Check with the airlines policy on carrying surfboards etc
Good luck
Oh and when your learning try not to paddle into the middle of experienced surfers
for your own safety yeeha

Mate if you can get a board to ride in Israel (rent/borrow) then I would suggest that and get a board when you get to Aus. A reasonable second hand board can be purchased here for around $500 or less and that should get you a name that is known in Aust so resale should be a lot better. Even if you get an as new board from o/s at a good price you may find that when you get it here and try to sell it in 12 months it is worth less than a hundred bucks because it is an unknown brand. Sux I know but thats the way it is.

You're right Sasha, this dude can really surf.

Hey, maybe instead of a "Bisect" it's a "bifold"

eranir, that width should be at least 22 inches, or around 56cm.

If you're just learning, the wider the better.

The board sounds a lot like an Asian knock out.

Some can be okay, most aren't.

The 8fter is a great board and cannot fault it. Have to ask though - why do you want a small mal ? If you wanna surf more beachies or hollower waves then I reckon you would be better off looking at other boards more designed for that purpose but if you just want a board that feels like a smaller/lighter fireball then yep they rock. I reckon the 8ball is the perfect longboarders travel mal and if you keep a bit of meat in it you really wont notice too much of a drop in paddle from an average 9ft fireball. I have always thought that the 8ball should have been made in tuflite and then it would be probably the best travel board ever made. It really depends on what you want to do with it mate - there are many really good options on the market at that length.

Asea your on caps locked and are shouting atm

Yes I had one and loved its shortboard feel for this big guy[}:)] But I found myself sitting in-between the long and short boarders and didnt like sitting there like a dead duck.

Do I rate the eightball, yes, would I get another,no. Mid length boards are not my thing.
I like to have at least 8 foot of board out above the lip and the eightball sent me airborne.

If your at work today, dont feel too bad on this public holiday as I am in the shop as well.

Mate I wish I was floating on air as my back is still killing me,I was going to go on the annual end of year club camping trip today but sleeping on the floor would be to much on this old guy's back.

Been flat out unloading those big boxes and done the back on Tuesday which takes me a week to come good.

Yep the simple life, surf drinks bbq and good company, however I have my father inlaw in a bad way in hospital which shakes us up and we are fighting the fight with him.He has been more a father figure to me over the past 29 years.
Now this guy has always looked after himself and to see him go down so quick is alarming, Lifes short so get out and enjoy or Life is better when you surf.

So keep doing what you do asea, work play and rip into as many waves and boards as you can.

Have good one
