I grew up in the Sutherland shire Ted and I can remember seeing that place when Mum and Dad would take us out to the sandhills and Kurnell. Pretty heavy . Good pics too. Saw them on another surf site . Would never have known otherwise.
Thanks fellas but sadly I will never venture out there - my balls have left me as I have aged and I honestly do not think my skill level is to the level required to surf that place. It breaks very very close to the rocks and has a massive step in it. I watched it break a few yrs back after a day trip down to Sandon. It was insane. I wish I had a camera with me. Whist making the drop is sometimes achievable you need to have the balls to pull into a massive heaving barrel and hold your line without getting pinched by the lip yet being high enough to maintain speed and an exit strategy yet not too high that it sucks you up the face. I think it really is an extremely tricky spot to surf and you really need to be tuned into this spot. Its not like Kirra in the good old days where you just take off and hold your line and count to 10 before tucking into the next section And lets not forget to mention the poor choice of alcohol that you attempted to use in your encouragement
