Yesterday I paddled out at LM right off the rocks I sat with five other guy's.
I cracked a joke about if you paddle and miss the wave your back to the end of the line.

This opened a conversation with the crew and we all shared and had a blast for a couple of hours.

I guess I mean don't be afraid to start a conversation it may help your wave count and enjoyment.

Fair enough too. If someone paddles for a wave and misses it then they really cant expect to take the next one.

Surfed Sat with a group of long boarders. One of them was super keen to stay warm and one guy said "Oh yeah he never shares". So i made a joke about him trying to stay warm by being the energiser bunny and he got the hint.

From then on it didn't matter everyone started talking, calling waves and calling others onto waves if they hadn't had one. Even tipping the hat to say go for it.

What a surf it was even more fun once that started. Best part was i was the only shorty so they often called me for the bigger (all be it still tiny) straighter waves that i wanted

Definitely something to be said for communicating

Yep - love a good natter in the surf - Especially when it puts others off / makes them lose concentration and you get to snake an extra few actually I thought that Mac was joking when he said there were only 5 others out at LM on that take off spot on a Sunday!!!!

Vibe makes a big difference hey. I have surfed spots with only a couple of tools and it felt crowded.

Speaking of vibe I was driving in a very remote area in our state recently; hadn't seen another car for a couple of hours. Then suddenly some clown drives past me swerving like an idiot and pulls the finger at me. Road rage and only 2 cars on the road for hundreds of km in either direction!

Mate we were taking off over the rocks all five of us had the inside covered

To matters more interesting one of the guys is getting married next week and every time a good set came I would say hey don't be getting smashed up for the big day and the others cottoned onto this and he soon stopped paddling for the bigger ones
