A great week and a bit on the Goldy has come to an end but the memories will last forever.
Was as great to catch up with some of the 'breezers over the course of the week too; a really cool bunch who I look forward to seeing again.
....lots of photos taken and as is my way, the GoPro on my board to grab some of the waves had.
Hope something amongst these clips warms the fire within you !
After leaving Sydney at 2am on Thurs 23rd, I arrived at Cooly early afternoon and after a kip, managed a late session below at Greenmount to get the ball rolling on my 9'6 Hobie.
Saturday 25th saw Bec have her first waves of the trip at Greenmount before the family meandered to Byron for the BB Surf Festival, a hook up with Josh Hall from San Diego to collect my 11'8 'Winter Eagle' and late afternoon waves at The Pass.
....just magic.
On Sunday 26th, the 'breezers and I hooked up for some super fun waves at Kirra and a chance to ride the 11'8 for the first time. It was a delight as was a session and coffee with the crew.
Whilst there were days of waves in between, the 3rd and 4th March were the pick.
So happy I took my 8'4 Carabine 'Mudrat' on the trip as it was perfect for the neat 3 foot walls racing down the line at Kirra both days.
While the sets were a touch bigger on 4th, the 3rd was machine like, not many out and with an amazing sunrise, this was the one to capture and video.
