Headed down to LM/GM today, went up the hill to check conditions to be greeted with the sight of every person living on the coast who owns any kind of board deciding to use it from Snapper to Kirra, there were bloody hundreds in the water. The waves were solid, steep & barreling. Front faces were a good 6-7'+ with the occasional clean em up sets coming through, just too steep & hollow for this black duck especially when you've got to immediately begin to dodge & weave between 20-30 surfers as soon as you took off.

The sweep was also pretty brutal with a constant procession of guys walking back from just south of Kirra point to restart back at LM.
I did it myself 3 times & gave up, feeling like a quitter but knowing my limitations & didn't want a damaged board. Saw some really good tube rides & there were at least 6-7 guys filming from the rocks & beach.
Oh well still beats work!!
