Finally got myself organized this afternoon and hooked up the new go pro to the board . Only taken me 6 weeks .
Headed out this afternoon took some good shots , but I reckon I have missed about half a dozen waves while mucking with the camera .
How many waves do you reckon you miss because of on board cameras .

Other tricky one with the longboard how far back from the nose do you all attach your cameras . It's not like a short board where you just tack the camera on the nose .

Its all about what you are trying to view - with the 170 degree angle it does not miss much. If you are going to be doing shots of the camera back at you (not recommended in the Greenroom ) make sure you stick to the side of the stringer so your legs and body do not get in the way as much. If you are a natural stick it a few inches to the right of the stringer and vice versa if you are a goofy. Always use a safety line as well. I will post you a pic of my set up tom evening.

Jeepers you would not believe the co-incidence but I have just been sent an email from go pro and it seems my camera has been super-seeded already! That means you as well Tassie! Looks like they have sorted out the fisheye issue with the lens - more like a contour result now - give your friends a call Chrispy

Did like the look of the contour Chrispy , and you are right from what I could see it looked much simpler to operate .

In positioning the camera the trouble I had is that I wanted it as far forward as possible to keep it out of the road , but not so far forward that I couldn't hit the start button when I saw a set rolling through .

Throw away society Ted .

Bought a marine fish tank 3 years ago top of the range . Anyway went to get some replacement parts on the weekend and you guessed it ,don't make that model anymore . Advice was throw it out and buy a new model .
