Happened to me a few times lately. Making my way out the back after bieng stuck on the inside, arms are burning. Then a mate (or a stranger) calls you into a set rapidly approaching. You turn and paddle, way too late, and either dont make it onto the face and your arms are killing you or worse you claw onto it but are too exhausted to time it and eat s**t. Either way you have to go once called into it. [}:)]

Mate if I am not ready I am not going, If I've just paddled out and I am in the prime posy and stuffed I do the calling in and it gets repaid
I'd rather see someone else enjoy as I get myself back together ,knowing there's more
coming.

I agree with Mac - might be an age thing, but I can wait for the next one instead of getting a beating (and having to paddle back out for my efforts). I usally call the next bloke into it...

I do agree with Souwester tho' - especially if it looks like a nice one, and you are with mates who are out of positon - the temptation is always there to have a crack... (even tho' you may be out of breath and 9/10 will stuff it).

Nothing beats seeing someone spin around and take off, much respect. We all called a mate into one a couple of weeks ago and it was the wave of the day.

He turned his board around on a dime took off and we all thought he was cactus then he came ripping off the bottom up to the top and repeated the whole process again. Great stuff, then he copped the next 3 on the head ha ha
