I don't have much to contribute to the forum but still stop by now and then. I thought I'd pass on some information that will be of interest to some here.
A fellow member of our Buddhist sangha is the sister of Geoff McCoy. I had a long interesting talk with her the other day about their family, Geoff and how he got into the surfboard industry. But in that conversation she said to me that Geoff has now retired, purchased a caravan and is about to embark on the grey nomad lifestyle.
So if you have a genuine McCoy handshape it might be a good idea to squirrel it away for safe keeping as it doesn't look like there will be too many more going to be made. On the other hand keep a look out at your local, that blow in might just be a name you know.
Thanks for the information stuk, now my only contribution to the forum is mainly dribble,so don't let that stop you from posting. Hows that board going, still got it?
I had the pleasure of meeting Geoff years ago when he had a shed at Woolgoolga Industrial Estate near my mates Whitewood Furniture business, before he moved it to Byron. He seemed like a casual cool bloke,we talked a lot about surfing, boards and many other things!... Good on him and good luck to him, hope he has fun travelling around!...
