Morning guys.

im ready to take the plunge and get my first custom board. Decided I'll be using Sfd in port Macquarie but struggling to make a decision about what I want.

Im still a beginner and been riding a very well used 9'2 mal that picked up cheap about a year ago. I'm told it's an all rounder. I'm thinking I want to get a 9'6 + log for cruising and trim and want to learn to nose ride but am dubious about paying all that money and not being able to turn it at all compared to my current mal. How hard are they to turn?
Part of me thinks play it safe and get another all rounder. Do any of you have knowledge of the waves around the mid north coast and can me me some advice. In the year of surfing around port I've not seen anyone nose ride. Is that the waves around here?

Go up to road trip next weekend and meet the crew. You've never been to Crescent Heads then , heaps of nose riders up there

No haven't been up there yet. Was put off by stories of huge crowds but more comfortable surfing in crowds now so might have to plan a trip up there

I'd say from where your at now,get a all rounder you can turn and nose ride at the same time. Welcome.

Yeah I think your right. the more research I do I get taken Down various avenues with the conclusion that I want loads of types of boards haha. All rounder will cover the bases I need for now. Thanks

You will not go wrong with SFD (Frosty) .. He is great, easy to talk to, and very very good!!!!!!
All of my current boards have come from him.
Surfing and living in Port, and owning a "few" boards, If i am riding my longboards it is 99% of the time my allrounder.
Go sit with Greg, talk to him , listen to him and I am sure you get a brilliant board.
