Almost Cut My Hair
from Ryan Lovelace 1 day ago NOT YET RATED
You knew it would happen eventually.
Almost Cut My Hair is a zero budget surf film containing approximately 96% pure surfing coupled with a sound track worth listening to...the only catch being everyone involved is riding a surfboard that I built. If you can get past that last bit, I think you'll get a pretty killer show.
Over the past few years of meeting and working with countless creative individuals, I've made them boards and they've in turn shared their talents with me; I've piled it all together in what is my ultimate surf movie. ACMH is essentially the past few years of my work, set to some serious jams.

Ok its not Monday (or Friday) but it is a Thursday & this is a single fin vid
I've got my eye on one of these for $500 at my local shop, just wish I could try it out first. I want something short I can jump on & not notice the huge loss in paddling speed after riding my LB. Either gonna get one of these, "Hot Buttered Eve". A Firewire Potatonator or something else with heaps of volume. Hayden Shapes Hypto Krypto looks good too, but $920 farkoff, even the Firewire is $785. Don't ya just love how everyones naming boards these days, guess its part of the computer shaping, China glassing revolution...anyone for a "Fartknocker", I know I want one, I want too many...This is the board featured in the vid I first started rambling on about;

Single and Unattached is the first single fin longboard contest in the Philippines. This event high lights for the very first time the traditional, classic style of longboarding in a country where performance surfing takes center stage. Surfers from all over the nation as well as the globe gathered in Monaliza Point, San Juan, La Union with their heavy single fin logs, leashes unattached, to show off some fancy footwork, joint breaking drop knees, and nasal tip time.
Eventhough the waves that weekend weren't really the glassy little peelers we'd expected, it was such a fun, laid-back contest filled with smiles, washed up boards, friends running after their friend's washed up boards, shakas, high fives, love and positive vibrations.
Hopefully, this event makes more Filipinos,young and old, fall in love with this alternaitve side of surfing and appreciate the very basics of this beautiful art form.
Till next year!
