just wanted to let everyone know that the weekend was an excellent surf weekend. Saturday was spent approx 100km south of perth with most of the regulars at the Whalebone so only 4-6 guys in the water, 3-5 foot waves and 3kn offshore winds.

Sunday was spent approx 150km north of Perth with 3 foot peelers, even lighter offshore winds, a couple of dolphins and a good mate in the water.

What more could one ask for..

Intended to take a few photos but was too tired once I got out of the water.

What did you get up to?

Had four sessions here in Perth, awesome conditions!
I think there was only 2 or 3 longboarders braving the waves in town at my local. A little crowded but early was brilliant. I was pinching myself at 7am on Sunday when it was just me and a mate at Scarbs!

Last 2 weekends I've had a bit of luck early on a Sunday morning at a place I would not normally surf in a pink fit, Manly, way down at the southern most end.

You see, I always make my regular break my first port of call, it's way further north than Manly, and because I must meet the missus at the Warringah woolies at around 9am to do the groceries before she goes off to work, I can only check breaks south of my local.

That's how I ended up at Manly the last 2 Sundays.

Talk about heaps of speed bumps, apparently, a bunch old old ocean swimmers set out at sparrows fart every Sunday morning, walk up to Fairy Bower where they all jump in and swim to Manly beach.

By the time I'm paddling out on the rip, they're all coming into Manly like a swarm of locusts.

Thank christ they all wear these fluro pink caps that stick out like dogs balls because they're bloody hard to avoid if you take the left.

But it's not a bad wave in winter without the really big crowds.

Certainly was a good weekend for waves, I reckon summer is soooo overated, Autumn and Winter is where its at. Within 100km North or South of the big smoke has uncrowded waves most winter weekends.

The other thing I am loving at the moment is the timing of the high tide and occasional all day offshore. Makes the best time of the day for a wave very easy to do even after a hangover

obct, Perhaps we've met, or at least nodded in the surf at some stage. I'm the same, I do a Pilates class until 9.30 Sat, so I'm good and stretched, but a little later in the water. Depending on whether I shop with my bride or not Sunday means the two fave locals are first stop, then I/we trek steadily south.

Last Sun ended up at Manly for about three hours mid morning and it held up really well for a kook novice like me..... One plus with Manly is that there is still some lovely scenery in the water with all the lovely backpackers.....

The whalebone at cott had swell for the weekend and some pretty good surfing all round. Taylor Jensen took out the pro div as predicted with some awesome long boarding. Local crew put on a real show for the weekend with some of the best long boarding seen for ages. Bring on the Yal Mal in Dec
