Looking for a month away in April. Where to go: Not too crowded, not too tourist, not too basic accom will take wife. Ok for old fart waves. Cost not too cheap.
Probably not Bali.

I can't advise you because I've never been anywhere but if I had the cash I would like to go to the Maldives.

Only because every time I see pics of it, the resorts look so nice, the sand is so white and a lot of the waves look as if they're nice and fullish and would suit a mal.

The only thing that looks to be a problem is that most of the time I see people surfing there, they're using boats to get to the breaks.

How about a little road trip north coast nsw's.

Anywhere from Nelsons bay to the border can be an excellent holiday, I may be going up to Coffs for a few days in late March.

The only problem I've found is that the conditions can be really erratic in that March to April period. In other words, no guarantee of a wave.
