A couple of months ago there was a topic regarding ECS Longboards on the Central Coast.

I posted some photo's of the orange 9'6 Triple Stringer I'd just purchased at that time (my first ECS board) and commented on it with regard to quality, service, delivery etc

I've had many sessions on it now and am still as stoked as when it arrived.

Thought I'd share this vid I put together showing it in action down here in Cronulla.

Money well spent and defs a product I'd recommend - I'm tonight heading up to collect my new 14' SUP from the guys at ECS - looking forward to that.

NB: No association - just showing that a great product is available coming into summer at a great price for those not flush.

Did your daughter edit the vid & choose the music for you lol

Looks like you've had some nice waves on it mate...a friend 2 doors down from me just got a second one coz the first one delaminated in just under a year. The second one was sent out free because of this & ecs let him upgrade to an epoxy by paying the difference. So although the first one was dodgy, they were cool enough to replace it without drama. He plans to reglass the first board & keep it as a lender.

Mate ,,, they will be stoked with that plug if its true you don't work for em! I came very close to getting one, but didnt. Gonna keep my firewire longboard had a surf on it and had lots of fun again. Plus I just got a Matt manners shorty that flies in really small waves....

SurfAnimals,
Post some pics of the 14 footer too please. Just add them to this thread maybe.

It was almost 1 foot today down here... So many crew don't even own a Longboard!
It was truly astonishing to see the number of punters with short boards today...

Thanks guys, appreciated.

I defs do not work for them and yep, my daughter did choose the music.

Took the 14' out this morning with my daughter - felt great and very much looking forward to putting it in some bumps.

Here's some shot's Simondo....12kg in weight (very similar weight to the AST Naish Glide 14' IMO), carbon rails and standing area and some 2011 Model Fanatic 14' influence also IMO).

Great video dude! Although I do ride for ECS, I can back up what you say on a good board for a good price. I was incredibly impressed with my first one, a 6'2 hammer. Rode it yesterday in 6 foot and heavy point waves and it went amazing, great down the line board.

I will get a new mal off him in the next few weeks also. I was talking to the owner the other night and he said they will have pretty much the entire range in by mid Dec. Certainly great products at great prices as you say!

Should send him an email with your video linked, I am sure he would appreciate it.

What did you use to make your video? Done quite well I must say. Great effort!

Tom.

That fin looks like it would be a "weed dropper" too.

Weed dropping fins are great!

Never tried iMovie to be honest. Played with the high end programs a bit but found them a bit complex at times, now using power director 11 and it is great! Can make just as good a video as my mate who uses final cut pro on his mac haha.

Do you find your ECS log to be good while up on the nose? The rocker looks pretty flat all the way through.

Hi mate, it's actually got quite a progressive front end - very similar to the McTavish Fireball IMO.

Cheater 5's are do'able but it's not one to perch on the nose for miles.

Supanimal a couple of questions:
Where are they made (ie which country and is it a known factory)
Are the machine shaped off a Cnc program that you give them?
Does the factory have quality control?
Thanks From Sam

Hi mate,

I made several enquiries prior to purchase and was given very specific details about where, how, who and the like.

I'm not sure it's my place to divulge that information online as I'm not involved with them so could not third party that information as it was sent to me via private e-mail(s).

They are made oversea's, in a VERY reputable factory that house several prominent brands and which is overseen by someone known to most in the industry who hales from Sydney.

I'm sure ECS will at some point read this thread and they'd be only to happy to give you and others the info but I can say I was most impressed with the answers to my questions pre purchase which have been backed up by the product to date.

...over to you ECS to add any additional information !

Haha at least it can't have as much as my current boards! Although, I did manage a few hang tens today and yesterday, just good waves I guess.

Getting a new board off them soon, I will post a video of it for everyone to see!

Hey guys good to see the boys are enjoying the boards and some nice pics and vids. Just thought i'd give some brief background info about our boards.

We are an Australian Business having been in the industry since about 2005 yet surfing all our lives. We started this business in an effort to bring quality products to the market at reasonable prices. Its been a hard slog growing and expanding our brand but we have stuck by our values of quality and integrity to support consumers. We are based on the central coast of NSW where all the boards are first shaped both by hand and CAD designed. The CAD process allows us to refine and tweak the boards to produce consistency across the range. Our designs are then sent to our factory in China where the boards are manufactured.

We only use the best products exporting our blanks and resin from Sydney and importing glass from the US. The reason we have our boards made off shore is so that we can provide quality boards at reasonable prices. At no time do we discourage locally made boards and infact are all for supporting locally custom made boards. There is and always will be a strong market for those who want custom made boards which we support. We even custom make some boards locally on the central coast.

The factory where our boards are made also produce boards for world leading brands. Naish, Fanatic, Star-board, Ocean and Earth among others have some of their range made in this factory. The head shaper at the factory is Sydney surfboard shaper Bruce Mckee from Mckee Surfboards. Bruce started shaping on the northern beaches. He has shaped for Pukas in Europe and been at our factory for the past 5 years. He was also formally one of the team shapers for FSC and shaped boards for Mick Fanning, Tom Curren and others. Bruce pioneered the quad/Thruster fin set up designing the formula for fin placement used by Kelly Slater and now the norm recommended by FCS for quad placement. Its where FSC M' fins came from. Bruce oversees all shaping/glassing etc full time at the factory so you can rest assured the quality of workmanship is second to none. I personally am in the factory every 6-8 weeks staying ontop of the process also.

Like all brands we are not immune to problems and issues in manufacturing which is highlighted earlier in the thread but where manufacturing defects are found we replace the product no questions asked. We are always constantly improving and evolving our techniques with new technology to provide quality boards. Our brand and boards are becoming recognised internationally having recently signed distributors in America, Canada, New Zealand and Taiwan. Locally we will continue to develop our boards to maintain our area in the production board market sticking to our aim of "quality boards at reasonable prices". We give back to the industry through sponsorship of team riders and affiliation with peak organising bodies etc. Attached is a some pics of a couple of our riders.

Anyway hope this answers your questions
cheers

I think this thread has been great. Well done to all who have contributed. I have no issue with manufacturers coming on and talking about their products - especially when prompted and giving a full and honest description. Hats off. I am not a fan of outright pimping and see nothing on here to suggest so. I have always enjoyed the contributions that SA has made to the Breeze community over many yrs and especially recently now he is hanging in the Greenroom a bit more often . Likewise with young Tom - a breath of fresh air. I like the breeze for both the crap that goes on and the leanings that I pick up. If that comes from a supplier or a player or a breezer then I am indifferent. As long as its not thrown down my throat. Long may the joys of the Greenroom continue.
