sounds like he got off lightly ..... a bit close to home although you are more likely to be attacked by a kangaroo in that area than a noah!

Hope he is ok - crap finish to your holiday and year.....on a lighter side I imagine some will be happy it was a 666 n not a true surfer.... I am not one of those. He might be the first recorded shark attack on a 666 rider. I wonder if he got taken after falling off after a wave or if he was sitting on the board or got knocked off by the shark. I always felt like you were invincible from sharks when I used to ride the 666. They never bothered me at all.

Let's hope this is not the first of many.

Lucky guy,how's these guy's with a 6m circling them.

SURF lifesavers have rescued 30 people stranded on a rock off the WA coast after reports of a six-metre great white shark lurking in the area.
Surf Life Saving WA said Twilight Beach in Esperance was closed between 11.15am and 12.30pm on Friday after a helicopter tour group spotted the shark.
It said 30 people were on a rock a short distance from the shore, but rather than ask them to swim back, a boat was sent to pick them up.
"Lifesavers transported 30 people via boat from Twilight Rock to the mainland without incident,'' Surf Life Saving WA said.
It follows the sighting of several other sharks in the south west region on Friday including three one-metre sharks that were feeding near Margaret River.

I love Esperance - one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Seemed really sharky to me that whole coastline....loved it though. Can not wait to get back their one day.

I used to surf Rottness Island WA a lot until I did some Heli winching in my old job there and was blown away by the amount of sharks I saw from the air, scary.

Your neck of the woods can get a bit bit creepy as well. Especially the long beach .
