After being a long time fan of the 9.2 NSP, I now see that they have a 9.6 version coming out - not sure if they are even is Aus' yet - has anyone seen or tried one yet ?
NSP Sunset Tint. Looks better than yours Mac! You bought the wrong board. ![]()
BB, if there was a Sin Bin, and if I was forum admin, you'd be in The Sin Bin ! ![]()
With any luck they'll come out at the same time as the JB hi-fi christmas sale and I'll be able to get one - AND a new knobless plasma for under a grand ![]()
The best thing about the new NSP's is that they have proper FCS side fins now instead of those old screw in thru the deck fins. This should improve performance. We have a new 9'2 and they look damn good for a (can't say the P word) - Mark
Speaking of NSP boards and their fins, I have an old 6'8 (i think from way back in their first few years when they were released in Perth) and it has two broken screw in fins. Does anyone know where these can be bought?

Longboards Scarborough generally have stock of NSP fins.
Anyone had a peek at the NSP's in recycled Coco-mat? Look great from what I have seen and using a resource that is otherwise waste.

Hey P co - any news on the new 7S Super Fish range...? Just checked the GSI Oz website and still has the 'old/current' shape there...
thanks
Hi Billboard, I think the 9'6 model is still coming. I have left a msg with the rep and will let u know asap.
As for Mac, I reckon he's stacked on too much weight (after all those Bundy's) for the 9'6 and we will have to roll him onto the 11'0!
Just to whet his appetite, here is a 40 sec info vid about the NSP longboard and with someone actually ripping on it (note it shows the old model without the new fcs fin plugs)
Hey Mark - you almost say "suprisingly" that someone rips on an nsp ? a few years ago a very talented longboarding mate of mine and I surfed a big big day at caba' and also ballina south wall on a 9'2 nsp and it is as capable a board as any other (any other) in big solid conditions. Tom also has had his 10.2 nsp in some absolutely stupid conditions and even snapped it last year in triple overhead surf and had it put back together and is still riding it on the very big days !!
I don't claim they are the be all and end all of longboards because they obviously dont have the craftsmanship and finesse of a Laguna Bay or a Mctavish or similar premium longboard BUT an nsp is at least $500 cheaper than these premium and should not be written off as cheap pop-outs but looked on as a very good longboard for a budget conscious buyer or someone who is particularly hard on their boards. Actually when I rode Mctavish boards I had I think, either an nsp or a bic maybe that I used in club comps when the surf was nuts and I didn't wanna risk killing my Mct.
You blokes are punching over your weight![]()
Oh on the video, hell its a thruster and has a single concave durrrrr[}:)]
Good comments you charger Billboard![]()
Agree with all that Billboard, thats why we stock them. Every board/brand has its purpose and place and the NSPs fight well above their weight (read: price). Life would be pretty boring otherwise (and this LB forum would be desolate).
PS re "surprisingly" ripping - I meant it was good to see that GSI used that rather than stereotype footage of family fun style surfing with mum/dad/kids sharing the nsp boards on a sunny day. - Mark
Hey Billboard, forgot to say that the new model 9'6 nsp will be available by the end of next week. How many shall we put you down for?? (and no, we can't get a demo as yet!) - Mark
My issue with "pop outs" no matter where they come from is there's no real development of the shape or technology, not to be confused with brands that work hard testing/developing something and then run it for a segment of time before updating it again.
You see it in pretty much every sport I take part in people just come around and say hey I want to start a brand but I have no desire to do any work I just want product so they approch large manufactures that pull some out dated what ever off the shelf and sell it to him and voila you have a brand. There's no progress there just sh1t in sh1t out.
Cheap **** imho,no offence for the pro people but I see learners or hire boards kicking around and that's cool but a serious longboarder would never own one unless its dirt cheap imho, smash me for saying it but I'm 100% correct so any negative comments towards this post means your a cheap ar-e or learner with L plates.
Feel better now![]()
