1976 Jeff Hakman wins the Bells Beach Contest
1977 Quiksilver exports its boardshorts to Japan. Quiksilver sponsors feature surfing film, Band on the Run.
1978 “Quiksilver Country” print theme introduced. Quiksilver exports boardshorts to France. Quiksilver sponsors its first team riders, Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew and Bruce Raymond. Rabbit wins the World Title.
1979 Quiksilver Garments founded in Australia to lead and service Quiksilver licensees worldwide.

Glad I'm not totally stupid.
Would have been 12 years old when they first exported, must have noticed them them.
Shame we can't do it now.

Funny thing I was always sure it was aussie....then got put in my place by a seppo.

Google was not around then so my check came up.with American owners blah blah.
Good to be wrong....sadly it looks like they are the shifty version of the bong when it comes to informing their shareholders the truth
