Epic movie - well worth it if you get the chance to see it on the big screen. Scary just watching it !!

I chaperoned Vanders to his car, just to make sure he was safe from marauding OB, but because we watched a movie instead of drinking for five hours, I think OB was a bit more shy than usual..... He didn't even try, so Vanders' integrity is still intact.

Good to catch up with you Vanders, Ted and Ted's mates (yes, it appears he does have some) who also came along. OB was on his usual form..... If you're gay or German, you don't stand a chance...... wait, that sounded like he preferred gay Germans, but no, he has some wicked turns of phrase in relation to gays and Germans....... Was a good night anyway, and they're all too seldom for mine.........

Yes MR OB was on fire as per usual - he has a wicked turn of phase only beaten by that giggle that comes along just as he is letting it out Its almost like he plans his lines all day long and waits for the opportunity to slip them in - sometimes he will steer the conversation his way just to ensure he gets to say what he has been planning. Gold !

Movie was absolutely unreal I thought. Some great interviews with the big wave boys and the WCT guys as well. Some of the insights were incredible - the history of the joint, the big swells and effort that goes into it all. Not too mention the raw emotion of some of the blokes. The footage was simply incredible - the lips on the big day were nothing short of scary - some of the barrels the big boys made were sensational. Really glad I watched this on the big screen - watching it on yr laptop just would not do it justice. They used a lot of zoom and slow motion with replays to really hammer home how heavy and critical it was. Watching these 'big wave Daves' (Taj quote - he was on fire with his comments) up close making minor adjustments in what seemed like life threatening situations was what did it for me. They just seem so composed and for some reason, have all the time in the world to make these adjustments. They really are a different breed. Its definitely not something that I would want to be doing!

I am scoring it a sold 9/10 - only let down by some of the music choices - that did not build the suspense or the scariness as much as it could of Lots of moments of utter amazement by the packed auditorium - I don't think anyone there would have been disappointed with the evenings events.

If you get the chance to see it I would thoroughly recommend it.

This wave of Dave's was insane - the camera angle footage in the film was miles better than this but it gives you a good feel of what they were doing that day. He paddled out and caught this wave within 3 minutes - then came in - Slater called it the biggest and best tube he had ever seen - now thats not a light comment coming from him!

Nothing untoward to report Tux, however we did get an insight into the the man when MR asked him a few questions, we actually recorded it.

For those playing at home, MR is on the left asking very poorly worded questions and Vanders in on the right giving too much information.

Gold OB - you sure that was not you two around the campfire at Arrawarra

I loved the background shadow movement here - wonder what that was implying

I lay the blame squarely at the feet of those Gypsies that live at the PP ablution block - Ted you shoud never have done that Freeball dance move on the roof that night

sea breeze shows a strong south swell, but not that big on the goldie by the looks of wave ht on the wind chart

south facing beaches means d/bar/tweed for straddie
