thinking abt shaping / building my own longboard. However, as I've got then thumbs, delicate keyboard fingers and next to nothing experience in bulding things thought i'd hear abt other peoples experience.

reading throug surfer steves guide www.surfersteve.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi and thinking that it should not be impossible even for me.

insights or experience and hints, tips, articles, recommended books etc would be greatly appreciated

cheers Hooksey

ohh btw - assume that you've already seen this www.perthnow.com.au/news/rescuers-tell-of-horrific-shark-attack-at-cowaramup-beach-in-south-west-ng-d1d2ae02bfdb461a94c6d75dd845fac1

Hi Hooksey,

I've made a couple now trying to finish the SUP but it's a bit cold to glass at the moment.

Surfer Steve is a great link also have a look at Sturlocks. I must say that I cheat and have my blanks computer cut, worth every penny in my mind keeps the garage a bit cleaner you don't have to buy as many tools (all you need is a bit of sand paper to finish it).

I'm also a fan of epoxy, it's a bit more expensive but it has longer working times (ie how long you can fluff around before it gels) and it doesn't have the same kind of odors which is a plus with the family and others around you.

Biggest thing is if your not in a very well ventalated area buy some of the 3M charcol disposable masks (you should use them anyways) good gloves (make sure there rated for use with resin), safety glasses and crappy old cloths. None of the resins are good for you so try not to get it all over your self.
