A pic of this board came up in thread about Macs new board. The board looks really good and obviously a one off handshape. Mac would probably know the answer but is it much extra cost to get a one off board like that?
It's one of the nicest looking single fins I've seen in ages and would look good glassed in clear volane with a half inch stringer and glass on fin.
If I knew how to put the pic up I would.

That's the one Mac. I really like the shape of that and handshaped from Bob she'd be a keeper.
I wonder how long that is. I know Bob's short but it's a bit hard to tell.

But really don't be afraid to ever talk to the guys there, all top guys.Dave is the guy I ordered my board with and also Greg knows his stuff as well.

Yeah I know Pup I've put her up a few times probably because it's the nicest custom longboard I've had.
I saw the price of that one off pintail as well. Must have missed that.

hey SMH Im looking at getting a McT custom. Im not real keen on the big M on the nose, is the discreet mctavish logo on your board an option when you order. Oh and also does it cost more for a tint than for a spray.

Stuk you can request the small logo which is what I did and the tint pigment combo is an extra $160. A spray is cheaper but im not too sure how much. I'm not real keen on the big M either.
What are you ordering ?

You can have any McT logo or none at all, ordering a custom with spray is the same price as one off the rack 1395 rrp.

You can order what ever like I have, three boards rolled into one.

The write up for the pintail has the dims!!!

Pintail 18305
ITEM CODE : 18305
9'1" x 22 1/2" x 2 7/8"Fins Included
Made in Byron Bay Australia
I must confess that all through my shaping career I've had a fondness for Classic Pintails. Ever since I stowed away to Hawaii in 1963, my eye fell on sweet balsa guns shaped by George Downing, Bob Shepherd and Dick Brewer. Classic Pintail template. I've discussed the templates in detail with George and Dick, and here's the secret: The first template George made was between two coconut trees on Waikiki. A piece of string, a pencil stretched against it, and slowly walk the arc. Result? A sweet Pintail. That was in 1949.

Every now and then, I just grab a blank and hand-sketch a Pintail template on it, and enjoy the feeling of seeing a Classic Pintail emerge from the foam as I power-plane away into the blank. Here's one I did two weeks ago. It will surf anything, and very well indeed. Flat panelled slight vee, single-fin Classic Pintail.

The $1525 is the basic price I think. So Bob's handshaping in thrown in for free I think.... Wider stringer / custom stringer would add maybe $80-$100, glass on fin is $50 or so extra (extra labour), and volane glass would probably be an extra $50 or so...

So that could start to stretch towards $1700.

I'm going to order one of these in 9'6 for Winter. This is 9'1. I'll get "Splayed Stingers" or two stringers / twin stringers... 1 inch separation at the nose, and two inch separation at the tail. Two leash plugs... Leash Plug on each stringer...

I recon you just leave it white/clear with the small Mct logo, that would look classy

Sorry Sm and the boys to hijack your thread but thought it might save up thread space just to ask a Q. here. Whats your take on a 10ft McTavish Redline?

Predominantly looking for something to tryout noseriding even if Perth waves aren't really suited for it. Researching says it should be ok for what I'm after and for $550 board bag and all it seems like a good deal. If alls well, the next part would be finding a place to store it

Your thoughts? Mac? Cheers guys.

Big decisions there. That gun would still be nice to ride in 4 - 6 foot waves. That pintail is definately on my wish list. The glass on fin would really set it off. I think I'll phone them tomorrow and get a bit more info out of them. Low key logos of course.
