Hey Guys,

Now that Chrispy has the cameras we should all familiarize ourselves with it so we can get some awesome footage(way better than GoPro footage). I guess this thread is to ask any questions about the cameras that I can help with so we are all successful in getting some great footage.

A lazy question as i could read the wesbite,( but i more need someone holding my hand in these kind of things) but does it have the same style of lens as the other brand. Fish eye i think its called

Also i have seen so many different models. What is the best one for playing in surf, on Mountain bike and for skate boarding just general muking around with kids in tow

Also does it record sound like a normal video camera( if used out of water )

They also advertise a water proof model, but also advertise a wp Case as well?

Last one are there different mounts you can also get

Sorry.

May jump on the same boat as JB and grab a Contour over GoPro! As I am a tech kook, does the camera mount also swivel or is it held in one place only?

Sorry here is your answers,

Contour doesnt use a fish eye it uses a flat lens, the advantage of this is you see things from their actual distance. What you may notice if you have ever used a GP is that when you are filming something it may seem up close but then when you look at the footage it looks like its 2m away, thats because it uses a fish eye lens. All the cameras have the same internal for video quality it just comes down to functionality. If you are looking for one camera to do everything get the Roam, it is waterproof to 1m and to 60m in the waterproof case. It records sound normally if you look on the front of the camera you will see the microphone directly under the lens. Contour has 35 different mounts to use and what I like about it is you can buy bundle packs depending on what sport your doing. If you buy the Roam watersports pack, it comes with the camera, surf mount, waterproof case and USB cable. Then if you want to go biking with it you vcan buy the bike bundle which includes, vented helmet mount, flexi strap, handlebar mount and profile mount(side of helmet mount) you can also rotate the lens so you can film with it sideways or upside down you just have to make sure the 0 degrees is always at the top of the lens(remember that Chrispy). Anything else guys, happy to chat aboutit.

Chrispy- Go to contour.com and to downloads and download the contour storyteller program for your computer, then you can get the video into storyteller, from there if you want to export it into windows movie maker or iMovie you should be sweet. Let me know if you have any other problems.

Sorry McHenry . The contours do look great and easier to use ( important for me )

We should have started this thread a few weeks earlier

I have never added a movie from contour to seabreeze, my initial thoughts are post it to youtube and post the youtube clip on seabreeze. Maybe one of the GoProers can shed some light?

Tell her to return the GP because for the price of the GP you can get a Contour, waterproof case and surf mount, plus you have heaps more functionality and versatility....just sayin'
