It was such a nice morning today - but with crap surf potential - so I decided to take the ladies 12'6" carbon beast of a 666 for a paddle.....must say I had an absolute ball on her. Although the cathedral style hull is not the best type of equipment for surfing waves a lot of fun was had. Can not get over how early you can get into them on such a toy. I hope we get some swell again soon or I may be forced to ride the 666's in the garage a little more often Looks like I am off to the naughty corner as punishment........

Beer fine Ted!

Just had a cracker of a session with OB and a couple of other non Breezers. Local break, first time surfed for me, and it was delightful. No crowd, just a half dozen or so at a place that we don't usually surf, but was working this morning.

So if you had to surf a 666, you didn't look hard enough!

Same here Ted .
Did a count the other night and in the last month had the longboard out twice and the 10 foot SUPLove out over 30 times

seem to have a lot more fun on it in the small swell we have been getting . Just been out on it for an hour this morning

Does that mean I get evicted

Jeepers MR you must have done well - 1m at 6 seconds on high tide up here does not give many options sadly. I got a few around the waist to shoulder high but most were knee to waist high....the swell is so weak that I would have needed a 10fter! I enjoyed watching the others on their equipment strugglying whilst I had a ball

Good on you Ted. I have a great 6'6 SB, a 7' fatarse board and a 8' McT Carver.
But sometimes when the waves are tiny or super full, I go for a "longboard with a paddle" - my Naish Nalu 10'6.5.
We are all surfers. It's about having fun.

(How long after Mac gets the 12'6 he's asking about in the 666 room before he gets the urge to jag a couple of wide ones when the points are 1ft??)

Be nice ladies.... and gentlemen.

Yes, it was a real fun sesh this morning, almost 3 hours, I even changed fins half way through.

Me and MR cleaned up with our wave catching machines.

And there was a rather pleasant optic nerve out there as well.

Caught MR paddling back out very slowly a couple of times, just so he could maintain the perfect position. Dirty old bugger.

Then I went up to soul surf to buy some wax and ended up getting a whole box for 30 bucks, while I was there I had a look at a Simon Anderson replica made by Simon himself, of the original 1981 board that he won bells on, even the paint was a perfect reproduction and had never seen the water.

I think he had $2k on it and he basically had it sold over the phone while I was standing there.

Surfed small Winki on my 9'6 Occasional Pin...
Variations on these comments we told to me about 5 times;
"good board selection"
"you've got the right equipment for the day", etc.

My wave count was about 2:1 compared to the hottie lightweight groms, and about 4:1 compared to the regular adults.

Get a 9'6 up ya Ted!
I hear ya... 12'6 glides onto the small stuff. You can actually ride "green non-breaking waves/swells" on a 12'6.

this is so wrong.

666's are my turf- naff off.

just because i look like getting a sb doesn't mean you blokes can start running amok on all sorts of surf craft.

thank god the the ring master takes a year or two to think things over.

hey ted, back in the dc camp. got that old school near new sic x 12 up for grabs. pretty much surfs like a long board

Ride Green Swell

I have the 9'3' but even that was too small today.....the green waves are fun on the big board...feel like learning to surf again as the big nose on the 12'6" Fanatic sure makes life interesting when you dig it in....a change of approach is required

I know Mac secretly wants one....I think he has asked more questions about 666's than BP

LL - I would to buy that off you but I am not allowed to buy any more toys at the moment - we are trying to offload a few to be honest. I have even had to sell one of my short boards to purchase another bit of foam for the new shape I am working on. Talk about rough. Mac should buy that one of you - would be perfect for him. I would love to own it
