Carnage. That guy was pretty good on the SUP. I know the sex pistols did a version of Come on everybody but I think that version might be The Ramones.

Takers for what Mac? Waves on the Goldie? Or for stealing waves on a SUP !

We had a massive swell roll through here, but it almost unridable conditions.... I was away, but I'm sure the protected coves might have had a wave....

But my best chances of fun over the long weekend, are probably on 17 foot of fun, doing a Down Winder...

2 is still great fun though... Really playful... depending on your definition of 2 !

I have a ball in "1/2" (half foot) waves too. Tea Tree Bay... Start out the back at just over knee height, and finish 225m down the line at below knee height, crouching and scooting along.... And you have it almost to yourself, because everyone assumed it was flat.... ..... (I think most people call that half a foot, not 1 foot... but a super grom could happily call it "two foot faces on the sets"! )

But it is surprising who much skill and poise you need to outrun the odd section, or scoot around the bottom... knowing when you hold, knowing when to run....

Yesterday I witnessed this guy on mct with grey bottom and rails with white deck,he was wearing a surf bucket hat.

What a disgrace,he just paddled for any wave he wanted to,never looked to see if anyone was on the wave,he cleaned up this real young kid after taking the drop on his knees, come to think of it he paddle then rode the wave on his knees for the first 20 meters then slowly got to his feet.

Just a warming,if you see a guy and he was built like a front row forward keep a wide berth for safety reasons.

I didn't get it,he just could not give a dam about anyone,it was if he was the only person out.Over many years of surfing I can't recall anyone showing a total lack of respect.Rant over!

I can hear "twilight zone" music playing in the background, that would be the most remarkable coincidence I've ever had.

Just yesterday at my local here in sydney at around noon there was a guy on a mid length board with a bucket hat and built like prop doing the exact same thing.

The first time he tried to snake me I had been up on the wave for more than 10 metres so I kept going left as close as I could to him so that he got the message.

So after I think he's been sorted out, I start going right and then after a while I do a cutback and here's this ignorant retard up on his feet behind me.

I watched him do that, plus your standard dropin, on every wave to just about everyone out there.

This guy was around 40 and very much had his training wheels on.
I was sitting a little wide of the main pack snagging the wide ones
with one other person sharing ( shorboarder) we had a good thing
going on,we did not talk but gave each other waves.

Never seen the LB'er in my life before and was not in the mood to
say anything,I was just enjoying the oil like, grey sky conditions.

The weather sorts the crew out, bloody cold yesterday in the carpark
thinking geez is it worth getting wet, glad I did very enjoyable.

Good to see somebody getting waves.Down here in newy 6foot and onshore slop and looks like being this way all next week.thats one of the things that really **** me about surfing the goldy is the amount of people on mals who think that their last wave was the only one their ever going to get for the rest of their life.funny thing tho, when the swell gets up a bit the same blokes are standing in the carpark talking about how good they are but wont go out.around crescent head is a classic example of this.when its small everyones out to drop in,snake etc but when the grunt comes they are no where to be found.just an update on the big c more cat scans and bone scans showed ok so going in next week for radiation.they think I might have had some cancer jump ship before the prostate was taken out.Ahhh well stiff **** just gotta get on with it

The rain was so bad this arvo when I was out, it was coming in from the south horizontally and stung like tiny hail.

At least it kept most people out of the water so the meager pickn's were easy to share around.

Odd crowd, apart from me there were just 2 knee boarders out on my point.

When's the last time you saw cripples outnumber standup boards?

One of them was a chick and she had a damn fine look'n arse on her a real pleasure to paddle behind her behind.

Some poor old learner guy came out on a shortish NSP, even though the water is still quite nice, he had all the gear on, steamer, hat and booties he must have weighed a tonne and he could not work out why he couldn't get a wave. Why don't they just buy a big fomy with lots of volume to learn on?
