OK so earlier this week the missus was going shopping so I asked her to pick me up some wax as I like to keep a little stock pile, and she's paying [}:)][}:)]
So I put in my order for Palmers Cold water wax ( As I think this is the Shiz )

The first shop she went into didn't even sell wax.... WTF

The second shop she went into had some young peanut telling her I was a kook for wanting cold water wax in Qld and tried to tell her that I wanted Tropical wax instead. But she knew what I wanted and told him thanks but no thanks.

After she told me this I felt like going in there telling him he was the kook and I was surfing in Baghdad when he was still in his dad's bag.

And may-bee if he actually tried cold water wax one day he would stop falling off.

Anyway After she went to 3 shops in the Biggest shopping plaza on the sunny coast.
She finally found it. What a gem she is.

Anyway what do you guys think, Cold water wax in Qld or not??

I hawked this one before. My reasoning was because it is meant for cold that it would become stickier in our water....then I took sp"s advice and fell in love with CREAM wax yeeeewww

cold water wax from Mrs palmer used to be an old fav then two things happened

1. Billabong brought them out
2. CMC spoke abt the Sex Wax cream that Chrispy also loves and obct hates

I became a big fan of it for my shortboards...its absolutely heaven. Leaves a big mess though - be warned. Use in small doses

I also only use cold water on my shorties, my boards go in the car and I only have to drive 5 mins to get to waves, so waxy blob mess doesn't matter to much.

I use warm water wax all year round, sex wax, plamers.

I hate cold water wax for two reasons.

One I can't get good coverage while waxing and two
I don't find the traction I'm looking for.

On the wax department, when I was buying boards from
my local LB store now closed, they would would give you
one block of wax free with every board,I always would think
wtf,its a longboard they should give you two.My mate down
the highway do as well as a teeI've got a few tees now

I also love cold water wax. I do find it comes of easy and you need to wax often, and always leave boards in bags in car

I just find it sticks better and i also use the same wax on the kids foam boards. I find the warmer water stuff (what the shops suggest for our temps) just don't stay on the softer boards

I do use sticky feet though and have been happy enough..I have been given so much with board purchases I've got enough for another year almost.

The other day i went looking at work for a wax comb..Couldn't find one and used something else. Latter looked again and then checked at home, I found 13 in total

Same a FCS key, you can never find one when you need it, later you'll find your sleeping on one
