Came across these fellas today during my morning surf on-line. They are from up your way Mac and it looks like the boards are Thai specials. Anyway there are some pretty reasonably priced options if anyone needs to add to the quiver or wants a cheap longboard to start off with.

I have no idea of the quality though and have not seen them in person. I first heard about them this morning - so I can not take any responsibility

I work in a bank doing Trade Finance and have clients landing short boards for $150 by the container, longboards say an additional 20-30%. If not operating store front cost structure is reduced. $550 is covering COGS as well as operating expenses.

If they are coming from Thailand they are part of ASEAN Free Trade Agreement & exempt from import duty. Boards made in Indo & China are not exempt.

Jeepers Dazzler - I knew that they were significantly cheaper - but at that price no wonder its almost impossible for the locals to compete. I cannot even get the materials for a short board at that price. It really makes you wonder why Firewires are so expensive - I guess its just where they are pricing them - as a superior product etc. Those boys must have made some cashola you would think.

Hi Ted , I'm Mark from Jam Pacific.

Thanks for mentioning us and yes they are really, really cheap but that is because it is a pre order sale and giving the chance for surfer to save a couple of hundred dollars and it helps us with volume that makes the boards cheaper to produce.

We do charge less than the normal board shop for a quality board but that is because our overheads are tiny compared to a board shop. We also have a special account for deliveries and some of the cheapest shipping rate in Aus. We will be suppling boards in some shops soon.

We are an Australian company and our boards use Dion Polyurethane blanks from Sydney and are considered to be the best in the world. Using Aussie materials is our only way of doing surfboards.

If you want to learn more about our boards click here: http://www.jampacific.com/Articles.asp?ID=252

I hope you like our boards, we do take totally custom boards so feel free to contact us for any reason.

Cheers.

Open letter to Jam Pacific

Hi Mark from Jam Pacific

I am Ted and I love free stuff. If you want me to pimp your boards please send me a PM.

I have been watching a few people over the last few years here on the seabreeze and recond I have it zussed......I have seen the mistakes they make, the obvious signs, their poor efforts at disguising their end goal etc I shall be no different. People will know how much I like Jam Pacific and your boards. Make no mistake people will know who Jam Pacific are once I start on my quest. Recall that Seabreeze is Australia's most popular water sports website and Laurie who runs it is a good bloke. Perhaps he can give you some discount advertising rates - if I ask him nicely for you .

I am keen to ride the Pacific Spud and / or Magic Bean. Boards will be returned after an honest and fair assessment is carried out. I will take pics and post my thoughts for nothing. PM and I will send you the specs I am after.

There are a few other people on this site that I am happy to introduce you to for a small fee who could also sprink your products.

Hang loose.

Cheers, Ted.

Got a 9'4 ocean blue board almost 10 years ago. Was $750 at the time. I've been watching the prices steadily come down since then.
Has taken a beating and still hanging in there

there we go problem solved ! why would we buy anything else ?
