So who has heard of this site? Has anyone used it? Do they advertize it? Why have I never heard of it? Why do some shapers have a lot more info on this site compared to their own? Strange strange times.......

SDR was on the news tonight promoting it. It's only new Ted. The young blokes have been working on it for a while and seems pretty legit. They designed a search engine blah blah I'm not tech enough to understand. But Del seemed pretty impressed by their set up

It seems like a good idea to me - just a little surprised that I have not come across it before or heard anyone else talk about it.

Boardcave.com is an online portal that connects customers directly with Australia’s leading surfboard manufacturers. Each manufacturer manages their own brand profile on Boardcave.com acting as an online storefront. Surfboard manufacturers can adjust their pricing and update their surfboard range and details at anytime. All surfboard model selections have been included by the manufacturer to maintain the performance of each shape and offer the best performance for the surfer.

I am probably going to get a new little retro shortboard from Boardcave. They claim 2-4 weeks from the time it's ordered to when it's delivered? Does that sound right?

Nice find Ted

I had a bit of fun putting in variations of my age and the average length of the suggested boards gets longer as I get older (bit like real life)

For my real age, weight and height it threw up 14 boards ranging from a 5'8 keel fin fish to 8' malibu. Kind of suggesting that most surfers can surf most any board. And that is what makes a varied quiver fun.

Another point might be though, that if you are paying full price for a new board anyway, why not get a local shaper to make what you want.
