I removed all the old wax from my board yesterday and I only have warm water wax. I now live in Perth should i go and get some cold water wax or just use what i have? I also have read that you can use warm water wax as your first coat and cold water as your top coat? What does everyone do?
With the weather hitting the 40 degrees mark and the water still balmy I would definitely stick with the warm water wax and it will serve as a good base coat when autumn hits and you can apply a cool water wax over top.
hi,is there one brand of wax that stands out from the rest does any one find ,as i do have favourites myself?I would be interested in other surfers thoughts.
I reckon the shop I buy the sex wax from thinks I'm sexy because I buy so much of it from them.
I keep forgeting to take it out of the back of the car and it ends up a big melted blob roughly in the shape of my plastic wetty tub, complete with rust from the old screw drives and various other objects embeded into it.

I just put this stuff on my boards and tried it out on the weekend. I'm very happy with it. I guess it's not as sticky as wax but I didn't slip at all.
The only thing it's a little pricey and it's in US $$
The cool thing is, its clear and your artwork on the board is not covered up...
I know this is getting into this discussion late but I use either stomp or farkin wax - mainly cos they are cheap. Sex wax is great and I reckon it works better on tuflite boards than pu for some reason. Also sex wax seems to look crap and not give good coverage on boards that have a lot of deck depressions - maybe another reason it is good on tuflites that dont depress as much. Be warned though that sex wax and palmers for instance apparently don't mix well due to some compound in them and as such you will end up with the wax peeling off and sticking to your legs or wetty. I found this out after using hard sex wax as an undercoast and palmers top coat for years and got the ****tts with wax balls in my leg hair and I was told by the palmers rep that you just cant mix the two of them ?? go figure hey. Oh yeah I tend to use warm water wax all year from the goldy as far down as sydney and have no real dramas.(especially after all the inside leg hair has been ripped off or cut off cos I cant get the blooody wax outta the hair.) Used palmers bali brew in vanuatu a couple of times and it seems to be the goods in really really warm water/weather.
