I do not wish to be rude but would like responses only to my request with little side tracking so please advise on as follows:

I surfed long boards many years back.

My latest effort is for the last 12 months surfing SUPs and going ok with my latest SUP 8' 7".

But now I would like to get back on a Long Board. I weigh about 76 kg and need a board to help quickley develop my paddling and wave catching skills on a Long Board.

Suggestions please.

If you were riding longboards before then you should have some idea of what you had back then. Mac gave it a crack in answering your enquiry but if you're only 76 kilos ( lucky you ) and you want a nine footer then something around 9'1 x 22 1/2 x 2 3/4 would be OK even thinner if you wanted to. The thinner the better IMO.

With it partly being my fault, thought I'd chime in too. At your weight mate like the others said, to be honest you could go for anything in terms of a longboard. I'm roughly the same and anything I've surfed (even down to a 5'6) has floated me pretty well as long as you get the volume and thickness right.

As an SUP'er you've probably got some sort of fitness and to be honest you're not like a mindless beginner stubbornly convincing himself to grab a shortboard first up. So my tip at the end of the day, just grab a board and get out there. These guys here will give you the intricacies of it all but thats it really at the end of the day. Any planning will not overtake simply grabbing a longboard from a mate or hiring and trying it out.
