Hey Lads
I have a mate around the corner who is a carpenter and has just finished making 2 hollow timber fishes for himself and his son they are beautiful and as soon as I get a chance I will post some pics
He put me onto this website thought i would share it if you havent already discovered it there is some cool stuff in there.
I have always wanted to build a longboard and my mate has said he will be available for advice which is pretty cool

Got a 35 foot plus Paulownia tree in the backyard - have been curious as to how a log could be built out of it all when she's lopped (that will be a job in itself)
Be checking this thread to see how it pans out - I think it was simondo who pointed out the weights of paulownia & balsa woods - interesting!

Nice one Boofy,I'd love to watch a LONGBOARD being made from start to finish, both tint and some arty spray work.Oh only if I had the time
Love those timber boards some real skill factor in them for sure, but I'd have to wall mount it just too nice to surf.

Yeah Mac you can buy the templates from the website the one I am looking at is the 9 foot wing. The boards my mate built are paulownia decks and cedar rails and stringer with fixed glass fins they are really nice its not something I would attempt on my own but he is only 2 streets away will get some pics asap

Ted you got me motivated when you said you were going to do it it will be good to have support from my carpenter mate he built a jig out of timber and threaded rod to clamp it all down so you dont have to use 5,000 plastic clamps and bessa blocks

Cheers Boofy - but the credit should go to Lfish whose creations I saw in PP. They blew me away. The boys gave me some some good ideas and direction....so finally after many yrs of dithering I will get off my a*s and get into it. Good luck with your build...and remember pics or it didn't happen

Funny you said that Lacey, my mate made it clear he was giving me advice only and if I started it I was gonna finish it he had a love hate relationship with both the boards he built
