This is most probably T-Ray (Tony Ray) coming off the bottom.

cricky

if that was me I guarantee I wouldn't be coming off the bottom.
But there definitely would be something coming out of my bottom.

Sometimes you don't get out. 100% timing. Cop a couple on the head... and paddle hard! Some days you end up back on the beach, brief rest and reposition for a 2nd crack at it !

Some nice pics there. Hows the power of that whitewater in the first pic ? Looks bloody freezing. I'd be happy to be a spectator.

That's just past my paddle in limit Mac. I would tow it though !!

I would call that 10 foot with 12 foot bombs. Easy 4X overhead on the bombs. Actually no harm calling it 5X.

My limit is about 3X+.... I love Bells when the BOM calls it 2.5-3.5m. And 3-4m from BOM is the type of session that I'm happy to get 2 bomb waves from. But today was "up to 6m" according to BOM. But the big ones had wave faces that were easily bigger than 6m !

As always a good report of amazing events Simondo.

Yes I for one would be sitting with the camera in hand as well.

I was standing right next to Steve Ryan as he took this photo. 1st photo. My photo, 2nd one, is a split second after, shooting on the wife's Slim Line Pocket Camera (My Medium Zoom Olympus needs a new Olympus rechargeable battery). Steve was shooting on a Pro Bazooka Lens. Same angle, same wave.... Different moment, different crop.

Steve Ryan's photo was posted on Coastalwatch.com.au

Enjoy it again !

A spike in swell saw some sizable sets rolling in along Victoria's Surf Coast yesterday. As Darren Wilcox bottom turns off this bomb, you've got to wonder what the two surfers paddling over it are staring at... Photo: Steve Ryan.

NOTE: I previously reported the surfer as probably being T-Ray (Tony Ray).
